Which calendars does Calendum work with?

Any calendar that shows up in Apple's Calendar app: iCloud, Google, Exchange, Fastmail, subscribed calendars and local calendars. Calendum writes only to calendars that iOS reports as writable. There is no separate login. iOS talks to the accounts you already set up.

What is a rule?

A standing instruction: when a calendar you choose has an event, Calendum holds that same time as Busy on another calendar. Your colleagues see busy time without seeing what it is for. When the original event moves or is deleted, Calendum updates the Busy event on its next pass. A change made on another device can take until the next refresh to show up.

Will people at work see my personal event details?

Not unless you choose to. By default the Busy event says Busy and carries nothing from the event that triggered it. Each rule has a "Show real titles" switch. Only if you turn it on does the Busy event carry the original title. The rule's row always shows which mode it is in.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account. Calendum works offline. Your calendar accounts sync on their own schedule through iOS, the same way they do in Apple's Calendar app.

Does it sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Yes, through your own iCloud account. Without iCloud, everything still works on that one device.

What happens when the trial ends?

Everything is free for 7 days, and one tap adds 7 more if you need them. After that, rules pause and Calendum removes the Busy events it can confirm. If a removal fails, Calendum shows it so you can retry. Creating new tasks, rules or protection then needs the one-time purchase. Existing data stays readable, editable, completable and reschedulable, and buying turns your rules back on. Nothing of yours is deleted because the trial ended.

Is it a subscription?

No. $14.99 once.

The Reminders link isn't showing my list

Open Settings, then Apps, then Calendum on your iPhone and check that Reminders access is on. Calendum can only see lists that iOS lets it read.

Protected time didn't appear or move

Calendum updates its Busy events when the app is open and now and then in the background, so a Busy event can lag behind a change made somewhere else. Open Calendum and pull to refresh. If it is still wrong after that, send feedback from inside the app. That report includes the details needed to trace it.

What does Calendum require?

iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later.

Can I rely on notifications and alarms?

Mostly. Treat them like any iOS notification, not a guarantee. Calendum schedules alerts through the system, and delivery is up to iOS. Focus modes, Low Power Mode or the system itself can delay or silence them. For anything you cannot afford to miss, set a second alarm outside Calendum.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: reportaproblem.apple.com. The developer cannot issue refunds directly.

How do I delete data or feedback?

Deleting the app removes its local database and diagnostic files. The trial dates and a purchase hint may remain in the iOS Keychain. They contain no content. Synced Calendum data can be removed from your private iCloud storage in iOS Settings. Events and reminders stay with the calendar accounts you set up. To delete feedback you already sent, write from the same email address to hello at calendum.app and say which message.

The legal part

Calendum is licensed under Apple's standard App Store license. In plain words: the app is provided as is, and one developer cannot accept liability for losses that come from using it, including lost or changed calendar data, missed alerts, or decisions made on what the app displayed.

Calendum is built to keep that risk small. Every Busy event it writes carries a Calendum marker and can be cleaned up. A task linked from Apple Reminders is the deliberate exception: Delete Task & Reminder removes the original reminder too, while Remove from Calendum leaves it alone. Your data lives in your calendars and your own iCloud, never with the developer. Still, keep backups of what matters, and do not make Calendum your only alarm for something critical.
